Starting with Our Own Boat

CMB Yachts, founded six years ago, is a very young company in the yacht industry but has so far produced two highly regarded megayachts over 40 meters, such as Mystic and Orient Star. The 46-meter Mystic and 47-meter Orient Star are among the largest composite yachts in the world. Meanwhile, both megayachts received accolades and awards for their designs. Mystic won first place in the “over 40 meters” category at the 2011 International Yacht Awards organized by Design et al Magazine. Orient Star, still in the project stage at the time, received the “Best Concept Design Under 50 Meters” award from Design et al. CMB Yachts has worked with world-famous interior designers like German Birgit Schnaase for Mystic and Tara Bernard for Orient Star. The significant success of CMB Yachts is partly due to Beril Başaran’s contributions. As a Board Member of CMB Yachts and an expert in design and decoration, Başaran adds a unique touch to the megayachts with her ideas and experiences. She is involved in the entire process, from selecting interior designers to choosing the decoration style, from selecting decorative items to communicating with clients. In addition to yacht interiors, Başaran is also involved in hotel, office, and home decoration projects. She speaks excitedly about a new 75-meter megayacht project. While she couldn’t share more details for now, she mentioned that they have contracted with the world-renowned design firm Espen Oino International for this megayacht, which is set to begin construction in 2014.
