The Story of Building a Mega Yacht
Turkish shipyards are becoming the new favorites in the world of mega yachts. Here’s one of them: CMB Yachts, with prices starting from 14 million euros.
CMB Yachts is among the foremost shipyards globally for composite mega yachts. Established in 2007 as a subsidiary of Başaran Yatırım Holding, the company produces yachts over 40 meters in length at its shipyard in Antalya. The construction process for a mega yacht takes an average of 20 months. The regions of mega yacht buyers have varied over the years. For example, in 2010, CMB’s clients were largely Russian, while in 2012 demand shifted to Gulf countries. This year, they are receiving more inquiries from Europe.
Currently, the production of the Miracle, Magic, and Mina yachts is underway at the shipyard. Each of these yachts has unique technical specifications. All are composite-built and 47 meters long, with launches scheduled for 2016, 2017, and 2018, respectively.
