YACHTS IN PRODUCTION
YACHTS UNDER DESIGN
Comforts in Water
The newest design from CMB Yachts, Liquid Sky, is set to collect awards in the international arena, just like her siblings Mystic and Orient Star.
CMB Yachts, a subsidiary of Başaran Holding, has always managed to make a name for itself with the megayachts it has designed so far. The name behind these designs is Beril Başaran, the founder of Artebel Design. Başaran started her career in Çukurcuma with accessories, furniture design, and production, and since 2005, she has been supervising the interior production of megayachts. With the design of the Mina megayacht, Başaran won CMB Yachts “The International Yacht Awards 2011.” Now, she is back with the newest yacht, Liquid Sky. The yacht, which was launched last month at Palmarina Bodrum, was accompanied by the company’s previous award-winning design, Mystic.
Spending more time on yachts has elevated the “home comfort” understanding in their design, making comfort and luxury the primary focus, turning mega and superyachts into floating palaces. This is exemplified in CMB Yachts’ latest design, Liquid Sky, and their award-winning megayachts, Mystic and Orient Star.
Surfaces and Colors in the Leading Role
Liquid Sky, one of CMB Yachts’ most ambitious models, is designed to suit the lifestyle of the boat owner, with surfaces, ceilings, and lighting that speak the same language. The meticulous work that complements this whole with furniture, lighting, and accessories is evident. In the yacht’s decor, shaped by Beril Başaran’s modern and minimalist touches, soft colors, organic textures, and elegant details are combined on a luxurious line. Modern forms and all areas that allow natural light, as well as the correct use of colors, provide an understanding that simplifies and enriches life on the yacht. The distribution of natural surfaces and soft colors throughout the decor characterizes Liquid Sky. The use of natural stone and wooden objects together with linen-textured products, as well as metal accessories and lighting like iron, bronze, and copper, further strengthens the concept.
The kitchen design and layout, products used in the guest cabin, bedding, dresuar, door skins, wall fabric selections, fireplace, dining table, TV units, bars, and libraries, as well as all lighting and furniture design and production, belong to Artebel Design. The selection of fabrics emphasizes the use of high-quality brands like Sunbrella. All carpet surfaces of the yacht are supplied by Step Carpet. Dedon products are preferred in all outdoor furniture of the boat, which is equipped with Data brand in the windlass system. In the skylounge of the yacht, which has a jacuzzi, waterfall, and bar on the flybridge, balconies are placed on the port and starboard sides. These balconies can combine with the open doors to create a larger space.
The 47-meter-long yacht, which took a year and a half to build, consists of three decks. Featuring four guest cabins and a master cabin, Liquid Sky has two salons and living spaces that can accommodate nine crew members. Produced entirely with composite technology, the yacht has a volume of 490 gross tons and a width of 8.85 meters. Liquid Sky can cruise at 15 knots with 1450 hp CAT C32 engines.
The world premiere of this very special yacht will take place on November 1-5 at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show in Miami.
Timeless Design That Outdoes Itself
Designed in the modern and Art Deco concept, Mystic won the grand prize in the “best motor yacht over 30 meters” category at the International Yacht and Aviation Awards a few years ago. The yacht’s concept reflects the common understanding of Beril Başaran, who is the signature of the project in all interior architectural solutions and applications, and CMB Yachts, namely the “timeless design” line. The yacht, which combines artistic touches with a comfortable and harmonious whole, showcases the lasting results of the timeless continuity of the Art Deco style.
At the same time, the yacht’s owner’s fine taste is evident in the decor and various objects collected from travels. Books and accessories from brands like Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and Chanel that witness the living history of these brands complete the concept.
Used in combination with ebony and wenge veneers, as well as light-colored fabrics, leather, and white lacquers on table tops and furniture, the gold-plated handles, door handles, and Swarovski crystals used in special areas clearly distinguish the yacht from others in its class.
The accessories used and the effects created with onyx marble applications are among the other features that differentiate Mystic. The design and production of many products on the yacht, where Dedon products are preferred in outdoor furniture, belong to Artebel Design. In the bathroom of the main cabin, the THG Metropolis Cristal Clair faucet group is used, while Hansa and Citterio brands are included in the other bathrooms. All bathrooms are furnished with honey-colored onyx marble. The decorative lighting used in the dining room is Lustre Monolithe by Mathieu Lustrerie. The hanging chandelier in the salon is Santa and Cole-Estadio 1. Door handles and furniture handles are preferred from Vervloet, while fireproof wall fabrics carry the Majelite signature. “Outdoor lighting Cantapuli. Upholstery fabric selections include Sunbrella for outdoor use, and Rubelli, Designers Guild, and Dominique Kieffer for indoor use,” says Başaran.
Mystic, at 46 meters long, is the largest composite motor yacht ever built. The yacht has a master cabin, 10 guest cabins, and 9 crew cabins. With 2 MTU 12 V2000 M72 1450HP engines, it reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots, and with a fuel capacity of 52,000 liters, it can cruise 4,000 miles non-stop.
Sincere and Inviting
Another favorite of CMB Yachts, Orient Star, reflects a distinctive style that combines luxury and contemporary touches with a timeless design. Orient Star, where CMB Yachts and Artebel Design have implemented a layered interior and exterior architecture, also possesses an instinctive power to reveal the potentials of its strong image. This feature offers a guiding style for the decoration preferences of yacht owners without disrupting the integrity with the materials used in interior surfaces and applications.
The distribution of selected artworks in the interior decoration of this 47-meter superyacht in all areas with a certain harmony is the most remarkable detail. The large seating areas on deck, the giant table designed for outdoor dinners, and the main salon equipped with special technologies for yacht owners who love to have fun on the sea stand out with their delightful design. Decorated with fluid corridors and a corresponding desire for outdoor space, the yacht provides this with soft and curved lines and detail uses.
The yacht has 5 cabins, one of which is a master, and reaches a speed of 16 knots with MTU model 12V 2000 M72 engines.
